Where to begin?

There is no "right" place to start. Everyone has different capacities, inclinations and preferences. Begin with whatever interests you and keep going.

Theravāda, Mahāyāna and Vajrayāna offer different teachings, methods and frameworks for practice. Exploring them can help you find your bearings, with attention to the context, teachers and commitments of each path.

The reading resources on this site offer a few places to look. You might begin with a question about meditation, a teaching you have encountered, or a tradition you want to understand.

For practices that require an introduction or transmission, begin by finding a qualified teacher. An interest in a practice does not remove its prerequisites.
